What this website is for
Stop Smart Glasses is an independent campaign asking retailers, opticians and manufacturers to stop selling camera-equipped smart glasses. This website exists to explain why, to help you take action, and to publish a database of retailers we've identified as selling these products, so you can contact them directly.
About the retailer database
We aim to provide accurate, useful public-interest information — but this is a developing database, compiled and verified on an ongoing basis, and it will never be guaranteed to be permanently complete or fully up to date. We welcome corrections.
Before a branch appears in our results, we look for real, first-party evidence that it's genuinely a physical location and that it's been specifically evidenced as selling the product — not just that the retailer sells it somewhere. We record how each entry was verified and when it was last checked.
Even so:
- Retailer details (addresses, contact routes, opening arrangements) can change after we've checked them.
- A branch appearing in our results means we found evidence it has stocked or offered the relevant product — it is not a live, real-time stock check, and we cannot guarantee a specific item is in stock or on display right now.
- We distinguish, internally, between confirming a shop exists, confirming a specific branch has been evidenced as selling the product, and confirming current live stock — the database reflects the first two, not the third, unless we say otherwise for a specific entry.
- A retailer may stop, or start, selling these products at any time without us knowing immediately.
Information provided in good faith
Everything on this site is provided in good faith and for general information and campaigning purposes. We do our best to keep it accurate, but we can't guarantee it's error-free, complete, or current at the moment you read it.
External links
This site links to external websites — news coverage, official sources, retailers, the UK Parliament petition site, and others. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, accuracy or availability. A link doesn't mean we endorse everything a linked site says.
Limitation of liability
You use this website, and act on the information in it, at your own discretion. We aren't liable for loss or inconvenience arising from relying on information here that turns out to be outdated or inaccurate — but if you spot something wrong, please tell us, and we'll fix it.
Using our content
The campaign's own text, message templates and design are here for the campaign's purposes — you're welcome to use the email/message templates for the actions the site describes. The website's underlying code is open source (see our Global action page) if you want to adapt the campaign for your own country. If you want to reuse or republish other content more broadly, please ask us first.
Using this website appropriately
Please don't misuse this site — for example, by trying to disrupt it, scrape it at a harmful rate, or use it to harass anyone (including staff at any retailer listed here). We want this to remain a constructive, evidence-based campaign tool.
Reporting errors or suggesting corrections
Found something wrong — a retailer that's closed, details that have changed, or a branch that shouldn't be listed? We welcome corrections. See our contact details.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the campaign and its database develop. We'll update the date at the top of this page when we do.
